Health and Safety

Keeping farmers and their communities safe and healthy can be challenging in such diverse physical, social and economic environments, and agriculture is identified by WorkSafe NZ as one of the top five industries for high-risk activities and workplace accidents. But, health & safety is not just about keeping people physically safe, it's also about mental health and well-being, which is interwoven with employment, adverse events, economics and trade and rural community. Federated Farmers work with Government and other agencies such as Rural Support Trust to ensure that policy, regulation and responsibilities are implementable, and that accountability processes are based on the integrity of everyone concerned. We also offer a range of support services and resources, including employment contracts, drug & alcohol policy and a Farm Safety Management System.

Are you or someone you know struggling with daily farm-life? We can help, please get in touch with us (0800 327 646) or Rural Support Trust (0800 787 254) now.
