Authority to Dump Milk Confirmation and Recommended Method
We have received written confirmation from TDC that authorises dumping of milk whist the current road restrictions are preventing tanker pick up.
The recommended method is to via effluent facilities (even if at capacity) and then onto paddocks (even if saturated) and even if surface run off is created towards waterways. The dilution rate of at least 1:10 is recommended to minimise environmental issues.
Discharge towards spring fed streams should be avoided if at all possible.
This TDC authority has been lodged with Civil Defence.
