Who are our people?
A specialist team representing 27,000 member farmers and rural families
Federated Farmers have 50 staff and a network of 24 provinces, together with associated area networks or branches, which provide a locally-based, democratic organisation that gives farmers a collective voice nationally and within each province.
With its specialist team, the Wellington office provides a centre for policy development, advocacy, lobbying, farming leadership and member services. We also have local policy staff in Hamilton, Auckland, Tauranga, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill to service the needs of members throughout New Zealand.
National Board
Federated Farmers National Board consists of seven farmers who work to ensure New Zealand can farm into the future. Each member is responsible for several portfolios ranging from water storage to property rights and much more.

Provinces
Each of the 24 provinces within Federated Farmers have a Provincial President, a representative from each of the seven industry groups and a policy advisor.

Industry Groups
We represent a broad spectrum of the rural community, with seven industry groups representing the specific interests of meat & fibre, dairy, grain & seed, rural butchers, South Island high country and beekeepers. Each of the seven industry groups within Federated Farmers have a Chairperson, a representative from each of the 24 provinces and a policy advisor.

Senior Management Team
The Federation's Senior Management Team consists of five senior managers and the Chief Executive. They cover key areas including membership, leadership and communications.

Policy Team
Our people are responsible for rural policy issues at a local, national and international level; reading and preparing submissions on each of the local and regional council plans, working and litigating where necessary on behalf of out members. Our policy team works on your behalf across three fronts:
